Louisa married Joseph in a grove outside of town at night disguised as man with a hat and coat. She was known as Joseph's first plural wife for many years, but we now know that is not the case. She ended up marrying Brigham Young. The town of Parawon was first named Fort Louisa, to honor her as the first plural wife.Tuesday, December 23, 2014

Fanny Alger
I am going to do a series of Joseph Smith's wives. This accomplishes two goals, my fascination with Mormon history and my love of portraits. I am excited to see if my skills improve by the time I am finished. This is Fanny Alger, historians are mixed on Fanny, some say she was the first wife, some say an affair. I am inspired by Cass Barney's style, but hopefully this will evolve into something more of my own.Sunday, December 21, 2014
