5 Tiny Graves

This is Louisa Beaman. She married Joseph in a field disguised as a man with a hat and a coat. George A. Smith named a settlement "Fort Louisa" in her honor, the name didn't last long, eventually they changed the name of the town to Parawon. After J.S.'s death she married Brigham Young and came west. A little touch up on 'Apostates'

I did this painting last month and struggled with the little girl's face, I couldn't get it right. After putting it away for a month, I gave it another try tonight and am much happier with it.  I wanted to post the re-do.

 This is the third daughter I am doing in this series.  It's been fun trying to capture the essence of them while doing my whimsical characters. Katie's a runner ,  maybe I should invite her to run the Snow Canyon half marathon with me this spring! 

Olivia

This is Isabel's sister Olivia.  I've never met her, but you can tell she is a sweetheart, I hope she likes her painting. I love her glasses and her beauty mark - how lucky to have it in the perfect spot! I need to have her mother tell me a little about this young lady and her beautiful big sister Isabel.  I want to  know more.....

I am getting a lot of requests for my 5x7  mini portraits done in the Forgotten Wives style. I really enjoy doing these, they are fun and happy pieces, I try and get a few features from the original photo and then I just go for it!  Next is Isabel's sister Olivia.

Practice piece

I did this painting as practice for the Utah Watercolor Society Spring Show, we'll see if I actually do it. What I love most about this painting is Paul,  his wild hair pulled back in a head band and his big beautiful smile. His arms are so big and strong to hold and  protect his babies. I am a thinking of naming this piece "A Gift From Tonga".  

I feel like if I enter it in a show, it should be perfect, but I love my imperfections in my paintings. This was done while my hubby was watching the Super Bowl.

Finally an official price list

Thanks to the New York Times article and the short film made about my art, I am getting a lot of requests for paintings. I never know quite what to say, when it comes to cost, so I finally sat down and put it  on paper.  This will simplify things, what a relief.
